Controlling Your Audio in Wirecast

Introduction

While audio is essential in a live stream, it's sometimes necessary to mute the audio in Wirecast. The screenshot below indicates where to mute/unmute your audio by clicking the sound icon and listening to the audio being pushed out of Wirecast by clicking the headphones button. This is the audio viewers at home will hear as well. If you see green bars, you have audio.

If you are announcing and doing PbP, then you may want to have two "shots" set up in Wirecast. One with your USB Soundboard audio as the main source of audio and another shot with just your camera audio (for concerts, pep rallies, etc.).

Muting Audio Within Certain Shots

Navigate to the Edit window on the left side of Wirecast. Then select the Audio icon. From there, there will be another Audio icon about four rows down, as shown in the screenshot below. If it is orange, that means the audio is on, and if it is not orange, that means the audio is off for that file.
