      Are You Hard-Wired For Best Connection?

      • Are you streaming via WiFi or Ethernet?
        • WiFi can be used to stream at lower resolutions.
        • For the best internet connection, we recommend using Ethernet.
      • If you are using WiFi, try to limit the number of people connected to the network. Some schools have set up dedicated password-protected WiFi networks specifically for streaming.
      • What is your internet speed? You can test these speeds at striv.speedtestcustom.com and compare your results with the chart below.

      Note that your computer must also be able to handle the resolution you choose here. CPU power is the limiting factor for most schools.

      Below is a table of recommended internet upload speeds for corresponding resolutions (rows) and frames per second (columns).


       

      Compare the recommended internet upload speeds with the results of your upload speed, which you can test at striv.speedtestcustom.com. Note that testing before an event may poorly represent your speed during the event due to the increased number of people.
